Privacy Policy

This notice explains what happens to personal data when you visit led-tvs.info, on what legal basis, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be skimmed past, so it says what is actually processed instead of listing every conceivable possibility.

Who is responsible

Because the site is operated from the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to every visitor, wherever you are.

The site itself collects nothing

led-tvs.info is a static site. There is no login, no comment function, no contact form, no newsletter and no shopping basket, so there is nothing on these pages that asks you for personal data or stores a profile about you. The only first-party storage the site uses is a small search index file that your browser downloads if you use the search box; it contains page titles, not anything about you.

Server log files

Like any web server, the hosting provider records a technical log entry for each request. It contains your IP address, the date and time, the file requested, the HTTP status code, the amount of data transferred, the referring page and your browser and operating system identification.

This is processed to deliver the site reliably, to investigate faults and to detect and defend against abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in operating a technically sound and secure website. Log data is kept only as long as it is needed for those purposes and is then deleted. The hosting provider processes it on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Advertising: Google AdSense

This site carries advertising supplied by Google AdSense. The provider for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

AdSense uses cookies and comparable technologies to select advertisements, to limit how often you see the same one, to measure whether an advertisement was seen or clicked, to detect invalid traffic, and, where you have consented, to select advertisements based on your interests. The data involved can include your IP address, cookie and advertising identifiers, information about your device and browser, an approximate location derived from the IP address, the pages you view on this site, and your interactions with the advertisements shown.

Storing information on your device and reading information from it happens only with your consent, under § 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. The processing of personal data that follows is likewise based on your consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future; doing so does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

If you decline, advertisements may still be shown, but they are then non-personalised: chosen from the content of the page and the coarse general context rather than from a profile. Non-personalised advertisements still require limited technical processing for delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention and reporting.

Google may transfer data to the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has issued an adequacy decision under Art. 45 GDPR; Google additionally relies on standard contractual clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. Google acts as an independent controller for parts of this processing, and its own privacy notice applies to that. Consent management

Consent is obtained and recorded through Google's certified consent management platform (“Privacy & messaging”, formerly Funding Choices, operated by Google Ireland Limited). On your first visit a message appears in which you can accept or refuse the use of cookies and the processing of your data for advertising, and can review the advertising partners involved.

Your choice is stored on your device so that the question is not repeated on every page. That storage is permitted under § 25(2)(2) TDDDG, and the record of your decision is kept on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR, since consent must be documented.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Use the privacy or consent option offered by the message when it is shown, or delete this site's cookies in your browser, which causes the question to be asked again on your next visit.

Cookies in general

No cookie is set on this site for analytics, statistics, personalisation or any purpose of our own. The only cookies and comparable identifiers used are those described above, set by the advertising and consent services, and, apart from the record of your consent decision, they are set only after you have agreed. You can additionally block or delete cookies in your browser settings; this does not affect the readability of the articles.

External links

Some articles link to other websites. Once you follow such a link, this notice no longer applies: the operator of that site decides what it collects and its own privacy policy governs. Links here are plain hyperlinks, so nothing is transmitted to the target site until you click.

No fonts, media or widgets loaded from third parties

Typography uses the fonts already installed on your device, and the images, stylesheet and script all come from this domain. No web-font service, video embed, map, social plugin or content delivery network is loaded, so no such provider receives your IP address through these pages. The advertising and consent services named above are the only third parties involved.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to obtain confirmation of and access to your data (Art. 15), to have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16), to have data erased (Art. 17), to restrict processing (Art. 18), to receive your data in a portable form (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw it at any time under Art. 7(3).

Note that because the site keeps no user accounts, the data actually held about an individual visitor is normally limited to server log entries and, for advertising data, is held by Google rather than by us: requests concerning advertising profiles are usually best directed to Google as well, and we will say so if that is the case.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.

This notice is updated when the site's technology or the services it uses change. The version in force is always the one published here, with the date below.
